Top 5 Family Photographers

There are no proper polls in the country as to the top 5 family photographers. But if so, I would have to believe that D Studios would be in the top five. And I’ll tell you why I think that is true.

Our Clients Love Us

We have received 55 reviews on Facebook and a 4.5-star rating, with people referring to us as “Amazing”, “Fantastic”, and “Awesome” On Yelp we only have two reviews, but both are 5 stars, and on Google Reviews we have a 4.7 rating. It should be a 5 star but the one 3-star review received is from another photographer and has nothing to do with photography, so it would be in her interest to give us a lower rating. Of the photography related ones, it is all 5’s.

Quality

The quality of our work is fantastic, and I’m not just saying that. As mentioned previously we generally receive positive feedback, like this email I received today, “Images look great! Delighted with all the images”. And by having two photographers here we are constantly sharing with each other to make sure that what the client gets is consistent and looks the best we can possibly do. Plus, I spend a decent amount of time looking at other people’s work and can be honest when doing a comparison.

Well Priced

Our prices are very reasonable in comparison to others for the quality of work. Not only do we charge a fair price for the session, we don’t gouge people when it comes to additional images. Often you will see a photographer that offers the session price super cheap, only to follow it up with a viewing that involves them trying to pressure overpriced prints on the client to make up the difference. Here we are fair on the session and the prints. And we don’t pressure anyone when doing an in-person viewing or online.

Smiles

You will leave the studio feeling good! If I had a euro for every time someone came in and said, “I don’t look good in pictures” or they were stressed about the session, I’d have a lot of euros. My point of pride is how often leave the photography session how much fun it was and praising me for my relaxed easy-going demeanor.

Sleeping Sophie

This adorable little girl arrived in the studio nicely sleeping in her super cozy bear outfit. It was great leaving her in it for the first few pictures, where she occasionally opened her eyes but would quickly go back to sleep. As you can see by this one she looks pretty comfortable. I know I would be in her situation.

So when it came to taking her out of it all, I thought she would get mad at her parents but she actually was very good. She went along with a quick change of outfits outfits for us. She also woke up for a while and pleasantly played along with us posing for this boxing picture a lovely picture with mom.

What I really like about this picture is that it wasn’t the one I was going after. I wanted a picture of the mother looking at her daughter. But when they went face to face her brought her in to touch heads, creating a beautiful moment. I did get the picture I was after as well, but it is moments like this that make me love being a photographer.

She did eventually get cranky with us so I almost didn’t try this last shot. I prepped the stage fully expecting her to let us know she didn’t like the pose, but what was great about it, as soon as we put her in the container she instantly fell asleep. She even gave us a bit of a smile for one of the pictures as she dozed into a pleasant dream. We didn’t have the heart to wake her for any of the pictures preferring to get a few lovely pictures of little sleeping Sophie.

Now that I’m done writing this I feel like I could use a nap as well.

The First of December

For some in has been a long year, and for others it has been an adventures one. December has arrived and we have only 25 days left to Christmas and 31 until the end of the year.

For us here at the studio we have had our ups-and-downs but one thing we always enjoyed was the fantastic children that have come through the door. They act on instinct, smile when they want to smile, cry when they want to cry, and do the things we miss doing – acting like children.

People often say to me, “You know what they say about working with children and animals…” My response to that is, “Do it whenever possible because that is were the excitement comes from.”

From the inner child in us to the inner child in you, merry first of December!

All Smiles at This Photo Session

It was all smiles for this little sweetheart during her photography session. We laughed, we played, we tried different outfits, and we had lots of kisses. Okay, maybe not all smiles for the session but quite a few.

She is so happy in this picture with her eyes glowing, I just love it.
